Magdalena Görtz

Magdalena Görtz, MD, is senior physician at the Urology Clinic of Heidelberg University Hospital, Germany and department head of the scientific junior clinical cooperation unit "Multiparametric methods for the early detection of prostate cancer" at the German Cancer Research Center. She studied human medicine at the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg with a stay abroad at Columbia University in New York. Her doctoral thesis on the progression and spread of malignant tumor cells was awarded the Wilma Moser Prize by the Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg. Magdalena Görtz's research focus is to develop more individualized approaches for the diagnosis, risk stratification and treatment of prostate cancer through integrative big data and biomarker analysis. Her surgical focus is on robotic and open uro-oncological surgery.​
