Richard Santucci is Professor of Urology and an expert in Reconstructive Urology. He obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX and completed his residency at University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle, WA. He completed a Research Fellowship at the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA and his clinical Fellowship in Trauma and Reconstructive Urology at The University of California-San Franciso. Dr. Santucci spent 18 years as one of the nation’s premier academic reconstructive urologist at the Detroit Medical Center. Since 2017 he has lent his expertise to the field of Transgender Genital Affirmation Surgery, at one of he busiest transgender-only surgical practices in the world located in Austin Texas. Dr. Santucci’s deep experience with complex genitourinary surgery uniquely positions him to excel at the most technically challenging gender affirming procedures, such as Phalloplasty, Vaginoplasty, Metoidioplasty and complex penile implant and urethral stricture repairs in former genital gender affirmation surgery patients.
